A few people have asked me about the Barto right hand exercises off
list so I thought I would answer to everyone. I only have them in hand
written form, but have intabulated a version in the keys of D and A and
posted in the Lute Tablature Forum section of [1]lutegroup.ning.com .
The first warm up is just an arpeggio (in F major) with the thumb
playing the F bass followed by "i m i" on the third and fourth courses
(F A F). Keep repeating the pattern, then drop the bass note each time
(F, FAF, E, FAF, D, FAF, C, FAF then rinse and repeat). Then vary the
   finger pattern (m i m, i m i m i m i). Then involve the left hand
playing a rising scale in thirds. If Bob give me permission, I can
track them down and scan them but I think you get the idea.
