I'm putting a theorbo up for sale shortly, and since it's my first instrument
transaction in a good many years and it's likely to be the first time I sell an
instrument to someone I don't know, and it's kind of a big-ticket item, I'm
curious how other sellers have handled the transaction so as to balance the
seller's need to be sure to get the money with the buyer's need to be sure to
get the instrument.

I don't think I need advice about selling to Nigerians or anyone else who wants
to send me a check for more than the amount.
