I acquired a lute with some damage to the
soundboard. There is a buzzing loose brace
and an open soundboard-bowl seam.

If I push the seam closed with my finger,
the buzzing stops. So I want to tape the seam
closed until my luthier comes back from vacation.

But I'm afraid duct tape would leave a residue of
adhesive on the finish. Also, it might creep and
not keep the seam closed for more than a few days.

Is there a good way to close the seam temporarily
until the luthier can fix the lute?
