Hi Mark,
I think that could be the place of the "petit reprise", the place where from you have to repeat the end of the piece. Very common in French baroque.

It is like a little mirrored upside-down question-mark with two dots above it. There is an equivalent mark in the vocal line that looks like a cursive lower-j, again with two dots above.
