Dear All, I am grateful to Nancy for her post concerning the publication of Dd.2.11. It's very much a landmark publication for the Lute Society and is the fruition of years of concerted effort, particularly from the main contributors of the additional material Ian Harwood, Stewart McCoy and John H Robinson. So in addition to the full colour facsimile there is wealth of outstanding scholarship in this edition, as befits a manuscript of such outstanding importance.
For further details see: http://www.lutesoc.co.uk/pages/catalogue#a I hope no one will be offended by my promoting this publication here. The Lute Society is a registered charity run by lute players to promote the lute and its music to the world at large, and it has taken up the challenge of producing high quality facsimiles because few if any commercial publishers are now willing to produce publications like this. It's also worth noting that whilst some of the world's libraries are making digital copies of their musical sources available, there is currently no expectation that this, or indeed any of the Cambridge University Library manuscripts will become available as free electronic downloads. Best wishes, Denys Denys Stephens General Editor of Music Editions, The Lute Society. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nancy Carlin Sent: 09 November 2010 00:26 To: [email protected] Subject: [LUTE] Dd,2,11 The Lute Society (England) now has Dd.2.11 for sale on their web site, so those of us who live outside the UK can now click a few computer keys and wait for it to land in our mailboxes.
