Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for all your suggestions and the warm welcome to the
list.
I got a regular guitar peg winder (thanks Howard!) took off the extra
handle bit and just used the slotted knob-end to gently un-stick the
pegs.
It worked a treat and without the extra handle I had more control and
sensitivity to the peg movement.
In the long term, it's not the best fitting so I'll investigate
everyone's suggestions but it's great to have a tuned instrument and
feeling in my fingers.
Thanks so much and happy playing to all.
Claudia

So if you won't get a good turner soon, or if you're still afraid
of breaking the peg, you could try this instead, or let your
builder do it for you
Of course, Claudia's builder would need arms 11,000 miles long to do
this.
