One and all I have seen discussed many materials/products used for providing a more friendly atmosphere for instruments.A substance worth trying might be the crystals one can buy at garden shops, hardware stores in some countries, at least in Australia, for placing in potplants to slowly release moisture. It is a synthetic polymer which absorbs approx 100 times its weight in water and very slowly releases it, I had approx. 2grammes absorb 200ml water sitting on a bench inside our house temt. range18-36 deg.C and it took about a month to revert back to crystals the appearance of brown sugar Regards Tom.
