I'm not sure I understand your question correctly.  If you're referring to 
something that you attach to an end pin at the bottom of a lute and then attach 
to the peg box (or to another pin on the body of the lute where it meets the 
neck), then I think that's called a strap.  Many music stores sell guitar 
straps, but they tend to be quite wide and heavy.  Not so good for a lute.  
What was recommended to me by another lutenist was to go to a fabric store.  
There you will find ribbons of fabric -  3/4 to 1 inch wide - sold on spools, 
in various colors.  Not expensive.  I've done this.  Cut to whatever length you 
need.  It is thin enough to tie around the end pin of the lute and the peg box 
and is strong enough to support the lute from the shoulder.  One inexpensive, 
but practical solution.
