>>Goeran Crona has provided us with the complete contents of Mertel

In the preface of Hortus, Mertel claims that he composed none of the
   music himself.

     Hi All,
For those of you not members of the Fronimo user's group:
Goeran Crona has provided us with the complete contents of Mertel
(235 preludes and 120 fantasias) in Fronimo format. The zip files
are on the Fronimo newsgroup pages at:
     [4]http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Fronimo_editor/files/Tablatures/Hor
     tus%20Musicalis%20Novus%20%5B1615%5D.zip
The book was published in Strasbourg in 1615 and includes music for
6-9 courses from a wide variety of authors, none of whom are named.
Fifty or so concordances have been identified (a list is included
with the zip files), but it can be fun trying to guess the
authorship of the other 300-odd pieces!
     Best wishes,
     Martin
