These three tiny pieces come from the first volume of Bartok's
Mikrokosmos pieces for beginning pianists. I first heard them as
arrangments for recorders. I thought they may sound OK on a lute but the
problems of legato are (for me) formidable.
Anyway it's been a pleasant Autumn day and the accompanying visual is of
a place buried away in the local countryside. It's about 15 minutes of
time (eating beef and chilli sandwiches) compressed to about one and a
half minutes.
