   I'm reminded of one of my favorite professors back in college. I had
   just taken up the lute and was so taken with Francesco's La Campagna
   recercar I showed him the version from your book (which was in our
   library). He just started sight reading it about twice as fast as a
   lutenist could possibly play it. Of course when the polyphony got a a
   bit hairy his playing broke down. He simply started over and said "this
   time I'll read the notes instead of the tablature". He had a virtuoso
   sense of humor. Still does.
