Those old CNRS editions are now out of print. The LSA has 1 used copy
   for sale:
   Oeuvres d'Adrian Le Roy
Fantasies, Motets et Chansons (Premier Livre - 1551)
$75 - free shipping to the US, added shipping costs to other countries

Something I believe exists, but of which I don't have a copy, is
     a CNRS
edition of "Ouevres des DuButs" edited by Andre Souris. If it
     follows
the pattern of the other CNRS editions, there will be a historic
introduction by Monique Rollin (in French) that tells you
     everything
that she knew about them at the time I was published. If you
     haven't
already seen it, it might be worth trying to seek out a copy
     through a
        library?
It's a pity that these well-researched editions went out of
     print, but
people understandably prefer facsimiles these days. I have half
     a
dozen of these books and am forever returning to them.

        Thank you, Bill.
I am aware of that Wikipedia article, and it merely listed a
     father
and son, both with the first name of Pierre.
Rolf Lislevand , on :a Belle Homicie, performs one piece, a
     sarabande
in C, by Nicolas Dubut (1638-ca. 1692). Those birth and death
     dates
[both Pierre Dubut's] do not match the birth and death dates of
     Nicolas
        Dubut.
So, were there three Dubut lutenists?
        Thanks,
        ed
