Many years, when I played classical guitar, I bought Stephen Daw's 'Ten
Scottish Impressions' at some point. I think it was part of a rather
prestigious series of guitar music edited and (heavily) fingered by
Hector Quine.
I have got on much better with this music, trying to play it on lute and
mandora. I think it is very sophisticated music, and presumably by
someone who isn't Scottish. I don't know who Stephen Daw is and these
pieces -as far as google's reach is concerned - would seem to be all he
published.
Here is a shot at 'Inveraray Castle', played on a lute at the same pitch
as a guitar: all the same notes but at different places on the fingerboard.
