Soundcloud is a site that allows you to upload sound files (WAV, MP3
and so on) which (as far as I can tell) it converts to its own
format. It seems to do a bit of post-processing on the way, for
example making sure it's all of a reasonable volume level, whatever the
volume level of the uploaded file. It's very easy to use and
search and is widely used in the music industry for distributing demos.

To a large extent the quality of what you hear depends on the quality
   of the original recording.

   I like it :o)

This recording is from one of my music students, avant-garde guitarist
   Dean Santomieri-
"Here are two spontaneous improvisations from one of my rehearsals with
   violinist Thea Farhadian."

Maybe some of you will dig it. Of more relevance to most of us may be
the sound quality. I was impressed by the clarity and presence of the
instruments. Has anyone heard of Soundcloud?
And of course I will have to ask Dean about his miking. (Why not
"micing" -in English, at least, the spelling is miCrophone.
