'Nowell Sing We' and 'Eya, martyr Stephane'.
Well, who knows? A 15th century English lute player who has heard (or
sung) something countless times would surely be able to pick out the
song on a lute. And maybe, as a novelty (ignorant, no doubt, of the
blind German far away) have played the lute in some sort of prototype
fingerstyle manner (even incorporating a bit of fauxburdon). The two
parts in these songs don't cross each other and easily fit a
   five-course lute.
