My limited Spanish (Castilian?) would also indicate that the author
felt that Fuenllana had died in Madrid sometime between 1585 and 1605,
so apparently everyone agrees that 1605 is an extreme date, though, as
Howard points out, not by any means unheard of then or now. Perhaps
there's other documentary evidence, like a mention of him as alive in
1585, and a posthumous mention in 1605, with nothing known in between?

aproximadamente 1585 y 1605'. There should be an acute accent on
the
final 'o' of 'nacio' and 'murio', but I'm not clever enough to be
able
to do those from a keyboard.
