I think it had more to do with the recording and the
venue in which it was made than with my ears. It favoured the upper register and the punteado variations sounded
muffled at least on my equipment.

....If you can listen to a piece you know quite well twice with the tablature
in
front of you and still not be able to tell what the highest string on the
instrument is, perhaps you should dial back a bit on branding the octave g
the
Root of Most Evil...
