[LUTE] Lute and vihuela pavan tempi

Greetings all.  I have a question regarding the tempi of pavans (in  
the various spellings) as they evolved from the earlier examples for  
vihuela towards the later ones for lute etc.

My understanding would be that in fact the earlier examples did not  
have the slow tempo of the later ... is this true please and are  
there any further considerations?
