Of course Joe and his students played Hermann Hauser lutes (when they could find them), though towards the end of his career Joe switched to a Papazian instrument. ( Papazian worked on Joe's Hausers when he needed them tended to). Albeit with metal frets and heavy gauge strings, I still love the sound Joe got from his Hauser. Ned
