Sterling, Thank you for your kind thoughts. Just heard it myself. The full interview was about 25 minutes. I went into detail about what is known about the composers, the social context of the music, the lute scene around Bayreuth in the latter half of the 18th century, etc. Alas, only the introductory 30 seconds or so was used. Sure, I was simultaneously drinking huge quantities of bourbon, but I don't think I was slurring my words THAT badly by the end. And I'm sure the profuse amounts of profanity could have been edited out by a skilled audio engineer in only a few hours. ;-) (No, not serious.)
They played quite a bit of music from the album, which is more important than my inarticulate rambling, so I can't complain. Thanks for listening! Tracks from my latest album, "Graceful Degradation", will be played and I will discuss the obscure composers and music. Also on the show is lute playing by Julian Bream (recently discussed on this list) and 19th century transcriptions of works by Beethoven by Wenzel Thomas Matiegka. So, lots of interesting things for us early pluckers this week... Go to [1]http://www.guitaralive.org/station.html for a list of stations, times and streaming options.
