Here is an attempt at a short piece from Belin's Premier (and only, I think) Livre. It uses only five courses.

I think the piece goes quite slowly. I tried a bit faster but it didn't sound right (with my technique). But playing few notes slowly is a bit like big close-up in photography: shows up all the little flaws. Also the issue about strict tempo or some sort of rubato which comes up every so often on this list. I like the piece but it's really difficult not to make it sound a bit clunky.

(I'm also trying out SIR1, thanks to David Van Ooijen, but only have the vaguest idea what I'm doing)
