Hoppy visited the S. F. Bay area last week. He was part of the Berkeley
Early Musical Festival.
Nancy Carlin organized the Master class.
What a gentle, nice and knowledge music "Meister".
He played the piano, sang and played effortless on all kinds of
different lutes.
We where all a little nervous to play in front of so many players and
guests.
Dan Winheld hosted the event in his house. He actually provided enough
chairs for everybody.
The high point of his visit was of course Hoppy's Bach concert played
on a German Theorbo.
His playing with his light touch of the strings was terrific. Maybe
other professional lute members can comment in more details on the
concert
Hoppy, you can visit us any time in the near future. I personal
wish Hoppy a long life so he can share his teaching to the younger
generation.
Also I wish him the best of health so he can play lute concerts all
over the world for many more years to come.
Good luck Professor Basel
Hermann
