See: http://lute.musickshandmade.com/facbooks/view/271 . The PDF link is
under the donate button. I had to do a bit of guess work for some of the
titles, if you find ridiculous mistakes, don't hesitate to point them out!

Unfortunately I just noticed that in certain cases (cfr. p. 11 of the
manuscript, for an example) pages have been scanned without really
"pressing" both pages open. In such cases the latest columns near the
binding are hidden completely or partially.
It's really exciting to have a new manuscript to look into, but if it
has been put in public domain I really do not fully understand why
we're not able to download it: it's clear that the actual situation is
very tempting, but makes the actual performing a bit too difficult (at
least for me).

I found that you can enlarge the viewer window vertically (drag the frame
at the bottom) and further adjust the content size to fit the resulting

Still not great, the text is a little faint, but it might do.

It is great that they put this up. It would be even greater if it could be
made available in a readable form that could be played from. I tried using
their viewer and I all get is readable fragments. Has anyone else figured
out how to use this for a playable version? The sight says the material is
in the public domain so there should be no copyright restrictions.

Subject: de Bellis lute book now on line!

Dear all
I contacted the San Francisco State University recently to see if they
had
considered digitizing the be Bellis lute manuscript [Ms. M2.1 M3 'Ascanio
Bentivoglio . 1615' - one of the best late renaissance Italian
manuscripts]
and was pleased to hear that they planned to put it online in their
digital
collection - and then received the link yesterday! Not downloadable but
looks good in colour - when you have fiddled about enlarging the images!
You
may have seen that I posted details on the Lute Group in Facebook too. And
Chris, can it be included in the 'internet news' paragraph in the next
Lute
News as I promised Meredith Eliassen Curator of the Frank V. de Bellis
Collection that I would spread the news?
