My trip to Berkeley, California is off to a great start; it shows why
one needs to actually go to these places and dig into the collections.
Pesori's "Lo Scrigno Armonico" turned out NOT to be another exemplar of
the c1648 edition, but a later (1675-) edition related to the ones at
US-R and F-Pn, but identical to neither. The Pellegrini 1650 book is the
same as exemplars elsewhere, with the engraved portrait, but was bound
in vellum with text from the Torah in Hebrew script covering it! The
librarian, John Shepard, is notifying Italian scholars involved in
cataloging Torah fragments used as binding:

Several interesting manuscripts for 5-course (5-string?) guitar from the
late 18th century as well . . . A full day and more to come tomorrow.
