All of Besard's ensemble music, including the few duets in 1603, is the
equivalent of throwing a can of paint against the wall. One gets the
idea that he started with one part and just scribbled any old thing
that came to mind for the other parts without checking for voice
   leading and overall effect.
In terms of "classic" disposition for a lute quartet, I don't think
those four pitches are named. The tuning intervals among the four
instruments are named. The "classic" lute quartet, like so many
conventions and terms we use today, is a modern construct.
