I have put samples on the TREE website

   You are right, Martyn
the Bohush Ms is already published by TREE EDITION
with an introduction by Michael Treder (in German) and
concordances by Michael Treder and Peter Steur.
The nicely hard bound book is available at a price of 40.- Euros from
   [1]www.tree-edition.com
to be found under the letter B like Bohusch in the listing or in the
   catalogue.
The facsimile is done from a very clearly legible xerox copy
that Bob Spencer has done before he sold the ms.
(People who recently have seen the proof print of the edition
that Joachim is anouncing, told, that the new color reproduction
is rather dark, the TREE publication far better to read, though
   black/white in print).
If somebody wants to get some sample pages, just let me know
   and send an email to
   [[6]2][email protected]
and I send some, cause attachements are not allowed to lute-list
   emails.
Bob Spencer gave several copies to some people (I know some of them,
and this was in fact a wise decision).
I knew Bob Spencer personally and he has visted me in my
Munich home two times. He was in fear that a future owner of the ms
could not allow to publish the ms and keep it hidden on his bookshelf
   instead.
And I can assure everyone that the xerox copy was not old, but
   brandnew,
when made by Bob Spencer himself.

   Dear Joachim,
Might I congratulate you for producing a facsimile of this largely
unkown source. In fact Bob, knowing my particular interest in the
mandora, was kind enough to let me have a photocopy of this MS many
   years ago.
   Just a few comments:
   - whilst the initials GAK might refer to 'G.A. Kalivoda', another
   suggestion considered was a 'Georg Adalbert Kalk';
   - the source names the instrument for the last three pieces in the
collection as 'Mandore' rather than the spelling mandora we generally
associate with the eighteenth century instrument. This might also
indicate a French source though, of course, the earlier French mandore
   was a very different instrument.
Incidentally, I thought Tree Edition was bringing, or had brought, out
   a facsimile: I have a few specimen pages (fol. 1v - 3) from their
   earlier marketing shots.
   regards
   Martyn

   Subject: [LUTE] New Facsimile
     Dear all,
I have shortly come back to the lute list after an absence of several
years and have been lurking silently for some time, reading the
   posts,
the discussion about single stringing etc. As one of the active
   members
of the German lute society, I normally just edit the society's
quarterly, but at the moment I am busy with something else, which
   might
be of interest to those who play the baroque lute and/or Mandora. We
are about to publish a facsimile edition of a privately owned
early-seventeenth century (well: may be around 1720) lute book from
Prague or its vicinity. After someone published reproductions of old
Xeroxes once handed out by Robert Spencer (possessor of the
   manuscript
before it came into the hands of the present owner), we accorded to
bring out a full-color facsimile in original size, complete with
introduction, commentaries etc. At the moment, the printer is busy
   with
     it.
For at least one week there is still a subscription running (see
[1]www.lautengesellschaft.de, click on the thumbnail in the centre of
     the frontpage).
I have posted some small paragraphs and a few pictures on Daniel
     Shoskes' Ning lute network.
     Best wishes,
     Joachim Luedtke
