Chilesotti trnscriptions intabulated by Peter Steur

   Only through a short description in an essay, published in 1912, and a
   hand-written transcription into modern
   standard notation by Oskar Chilesotti, we know an extensive manuscript,
   which is now believed to be lost,
   with compositions for the Baroque Lute.

   Peter Steur has retransmitted the transfer of Chilesotti (now preserved
   in the Fondazione Giorgio Cini Museum
   in Bassano del Grappa, Venice) into French tablature. In this way, the
   compositions are again accessible to
   lutenists who are accustomed to playing from tablature.

   The edition comes in four volumes:

   Vol I: Incipits and concordances by Peter Steur, Introduction by
   Michael Treder;

   Vol. II to IV: 284 Pieces including compositions by Weiss, Kühnel,
   Pichler, Lauffensteiner, and Hoffer.
   Many pieces are without concordances.
