Hi everyone, over a decade ago, I recall attending one of the talks at the UK Lute Society’s meetings where the speaker talked about paintings of lute players, and said he felt a certain painting (Caravaggio?) was likely a fake on account of the positioning of the fingers. It was quite a compelling argument at the time.
Does anyone recall who the talk was by and if a transcript is available? Thanks in advance! Edward To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
