Oh, I've run the update from a stick OK, it was just trying to do it 
from the iso image that the stick was written from that I had trouble 
with and was following up on.

Btw you could probably set gpgcheck=0 in yum.conf and run with that, 
although fedup 0.8 deals with other issues as well, which is what I did 
first.
