At least there is more real choice under Linux. I am not liking where Gnome has gone, and still trying to work out which graphical desktop is most effective for me. I am used to some of the Gnome applications, and LXDE looks good, but missing a few little "features" in the standard applications. The best way for me to try is from magazine cover disks as I am on dial up.
