Similar problems for me on an HP Envy M6. I was able to multi-boot to
the grub menu prior to upgrading from Win8 to 8.1 (but was not able to
do so when secure boot was enabled).
Following this upgrade I am unable to boot into grub other than thru the
F9 start-up menu.

Seems like its an HP thing with their implementation of UEFI. I haven't
tried the efibootmgr yet.

Regards
Rob
