Thanks for the reply, I am familiar with qeeqie, its a good app for images
but it does not display the GPS IFD from the exif data. Note 1.
I have found an answer though, slightly unfortunately it does not appear to
be in Debian, its the Java app "geotag". Availible from.........

It uses googleearth via the Chromium browser to display the geo tag
position, works great. For install info see........
http://geotag.sourceforge.net/QuickStart/
One of course needs both chromium and googleearth installed.

Note 1: I use a Nikon D700 with the GPS1 attachment that automaticly tags
the image with its current GPS data when you take a shot. A REAL great
asset I may say.
