You're thinking of the American brand of the Libertarian Right, not all forms of libertarianism. For instance my lot, Pirate Party Australia, our policies and principles are pretty much consistent with the Libertarian Left and I think you'll find plenty in there that you agree with (given one of your other examples I suggest you start with the tax policy, negative tax and the basic income policy). > Libertarianism is about helping the powerful subjugate the weak.
