I can't see 5k being a long term thing, given the past history of period doubling.
The curved screen thing if subtle might be a real benefit if the screen becomes so big you start to notice the world isn't flat, but otherwise I just assumed it's " hey look at this, isn't it shiny" And lastly - resolution versus size and distance is already well past useful... https://www.rgb.com/display-size-resolution-and-ideal-viewing-distance Got a ways to go in the 4K screen size (at say 140in diag size @ 10 ft/3.3 m) before 8k begins to even be distinguishable...
