Do you just have the system paging non-stop all the time?
I did see a post with similar specs - perhaps it was the paging file. I made it 4GB yesterday and only had one maybe 2 crashes today.
I picked up a replacement and will but Mint on it as I'm testing it on another laptop and I like it.
