Hi Andrew
So the file you do not want deleted are not in the source directory?
If that is the case the best option would be to remove the --delete command.
Mike
OK I have changed the source to /media/andrew/"SP PHD U3"/Music/
target to /home/andrew/MusicBak/
I had 3 albums which were already on the target and rsync marked them
for deletion but I would like to keep them
$ rsync -aPSvx --dry-run --delete /media/andrew/"SP PHD U3"/MusicBak/
/home/andrew/Music/
and this is the tail of the result:
WillyNelson/
Worship/
jennifer_warnes/
jennifer_warnes/famous_blue_raincoat/
jennifer_warnes/the_hunter/
sent 148,615 bytes received 4,690 bytes 306,610.00 bytes/sec
total size is 16,046,739,327 speedup is 104,671.99 (DRY RUN)
