Single binary is very desirable for some projects. In other cases I'd be embedding luv/lua in a larger application and wouldn't care about single binary support -- static linking everything would be desirable if possible.

Ideally, I'd prefer to be able to choose between both vanilla lua and luajit depending on the project. I've no experience with luarocks.
