Hi Guys, I've included the body of a mail to the list which I found from April last year as I'm experiencing the same issues:- I just upgraded some servers to the heartbeat package provided by fedora.
This new package doesn't seem to handle ARPing properly... it appears that it doesn't properly run the local_takeip and local_giveip scripts any longer... Which causes the whole system to fail once my router flushes it's ARP. The problem appears to be in this rpm heartbeat-2.0.4-2.fc4.rpm Specifically with this script /etc/ha.d/resource.d/IPaddr2 What happened to the local_takeip and local_giveip with the new version? Thanks -Jason I've just upgraded from a working copy of heartbeat 1.23 to 2.08 using the legacy haresources file rather than the new XML config at the moment. My heartbeat cluster no longer execute local_takeip and localgiveip as far as I can see when stopping and starting heartbeat, this is causing the same issues as described about - has anyone else come across this, or can they suggest where I can look to troubleshoot? I'm a new to troubleshooting heartbeat, 1.23 worked pretty much straight away for me, so please be gentle!!
