In the early days of linux, the LVS-DR realserver could have the VIP on any device (my experiments on this are in the HOWTO at http://www.austintek.com/LVS/LVS-HOWTO/HOWTO/LVS-HOWTO.arp_problem.html#vip_devices ). I've heard from people on the list, that you can't get some of these configurations to work for 2.4 and 2.6 kernels. Presumably the routing has changed. Can you put two IPs on a NIC in windows? Can you put a 2nd NIC into the windows box, and put the VIP on the 2nd (otherwise unconnected) NIC? You might have to change the netmask for the VIP for windows http://www.austintek.com/LVS/LVS-HOWTO/HOWTO/LVS-HOWTO.ipvsadm.html#netmask_for_VIP Joe -- Joseph Mack NA3T EME(B,D), FM05lw North Carolina jmack (at) wm7d (dot) net - azimuthal equidistant map generator at http://www.wm7d.net/azproj.shtml Homepage http://www.austintek.com/ It's GNU/Linux! _______________________________________________ LinuxVirtualServer.org mailing list - [email protected] Send requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or go to http://lists.graemef.net/mailman/listinfo/lvs-users
