I tried by giving the IP address, used by simhost, in my browser. And this is exactly my problem

It is the simhost which responds to your pings, so if ping is working
then the tap0 interface driver must be reading and writing data
successfully.
Can you connect to the telnet and HTTP servers on the simhost?
