I was thinking along those lines too.  Literally, if someone has this
problem, just do it at the shell level with an alias...

alias lxc-start='lxc-start -d'

Stuff it in a .profile somewhere.

Which is a nice idea that would preserve most of the current behavior if
we had a sane default for stderr.
