I tried this on a fresh raring instance with btrfs backing store and
couldn't reproduce it.

Can you show what kernel you're running?  When you log into the
container, I assume that 'ifconfig -a' and 'ps -ef' confirm that
you are in both fresh pid and net namespaces?
