This will pretty much be to the point and to prevent some "holy war" on this, I am not interested in, and doesn't solve the issue to the benefit of any LXC users. pulse causes issues on a wide spectrum of devices from physical OEM laptops (Dell, Compaq, HP) to custom built boxes using a wide variety of hardware. As well as VM's under ESXi, Server and Player.. Removing it solves the problems each and every time be it from 8.04 or so to 12.04. That is all I need to know... and since this really is not directrly related to support ALSA in a LXC container, that is all I think any one wants to hear on it. I am not using it, I am not interested in it. And no changes to pulse will change my mind. Even if it is a or the only solution to using audio in LXC containers. I am not interested in pulse. Pointing the container to hw:0,1 or 1,1, or 2,1 etc and what ever to use for audio would be better, if it is possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Introducing Performance Central, a new site from SourceForge and AppDynamics.
