I checked in some changes to lxterminal that fix the open bugs.
I've added a small change that sets the character encoding to the current
locale's encoding. It would seem that this should satisfy most needs.
It does turn out to be a little tricky to get the current locale established.
I had to use the following incantation in my slim.conf
bash -l -c "/usr/bin/lxsession -s LXDE"
I would think this should be mentioned in the wiki.
