Hi,

I tested lxdm on Ubuntu, and found that it is currently quite usable :
- login / logout / basic commands OK
- autologin and default session easy to setup
- fast enough
- consolekit working

But there is some problems which are blockers for a possible integration
in Ubuntu :

- No .Xauthority file : the support for using .Xauthority is disable in
the source. And even if you re-enable it, it's currently not working.
The server authentification file is created, but not the client (user)
one. This mean that no application can be used with gksu (which is the
case for the package manager in Ubuntu).

- Copyright and Licence missing : Some missing copyright and licence
headers. There is also no copy of others licences that GPL 3 (gdm source
use LGPL for example). This is also a blocker, Debian or Ubuntu archive
admin will not accept the package with this problem.

I didn't see any progress on the svn for lxdm recently, so I wonder if
there is a plan to fix them, and for futur blockers bugs. FYI, I
included lxdm as a preview in the last Lubuntu ISO, to have more testing
and see if it's suitable for the next release.

Well, it's just to be sure that the support will be here when bugs (and
maybe security issues) will arrive :)

Thanks.

Regards,
Julien Lavergne
