Hi list,
Recently much has been changed in the latest pcmanfm/libfm.
Here are noticeable ones:
1. desktop icons now partially works:
* "pcmanfm2 --desktop" can launch the desktop manager
* clicking on desktop items doesn't work now.
* wallpaper can be changed in config file only. Or, you can change
it via command line when pcmanfm2 --desktop is running:
"pcmanfm2 --set-wallpaper=/path/to/the/image/file/you/want/to/use.jpg"
2. preference dialog is finished
3. performance is improved again. now the speed of the new pcmanfm
should be comparable to the old 0.5 series.
It's still a little buggy and is not ready for daily use, but early
testing is encouraged so I can discover bugs earlier. Also, for
developers knowing gtk+ and C, you can help fixing bugs and compiler
warnings, too.
To grab the latest source code for testing:
Source code of libfm (required to compile pcmanfm):
git clone git://pcmanfm.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/pcmanfm/libfm
Source code of new pcmanfm (This is a total re-write. If you need
source code of old deprecated pcmanfm series, please check it out from
svn repository.):
git clone git://pcmanfm.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/pcmanfm/pcmanfm
The goal of the new pcmanfm is to provide good file management
solution for LXDE and to be a compatible Nautilus replacement for
Gnome.
Cheesr!
