We do not do anything behind your back.

The normal way to configure X properties is to add to 
/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart whatever commands you want to run when you 
log in.  Be sure to omit the "@" that you see on lxpanel.  This tells the 
session manager to restart that program if it exits, which you do not want to 
do for something you run once.

So for example I have in mine

xset s off
xset s noblank
xset dpms 600 600 600

and you could put whatever xinput command you need to set your mouse however 
you like it.
