+1. However you will have to implement this cleanly and this means that you will have to use several ifdefs because the lm_sensors guys tend to change their APIs quit often. I maintain the xfce4-sensors-plugin and so far I had 2 API breakages between 2.x (2.8.x?) and now (3.1.2).
