Hi,

I am Naveen Kumar Molleti, a 4th year undergraduate student pursuing a
B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Computer Science at the Indian Institute of
Technology, Kharagpur.

i would want to work on PCManFM, and consider the following two projects:

0) "Add Custom File Actions, "Send to", and "Create New Files" to
popup menus of PCManFM/Libfm"
1) "Fork GVFS to provide a more lightweight, stripped down version
without Gnome dependency"

I have gone through all the pre-requisites. I have also downloaded the
related source code and have been staying up to date with the git repo
for the past week.

I should think that the first project is relatively an easy one,
requiring GTK+ programming experience. I do not have a proper idea of
how caching should be implemented though.

The second project, forking GVFS and implementing the necessary TODO
as listed here (
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/Google_Summer_of_Code_2010#Fork_GVFS_to_provide_a_more_lightweight.2C_stripped_down_version_without_Gnome_dependency
) should be very interesting for me, and I think my experience in
projects related to operating systems and I/O subsystems would help.

I'd want to know your views if I'm underestimating the difficulty of
the individual projects.
