I don't know much about the rules of ~/.config but a hidden hile in the
top level doesn't really sound like avery good thing.

both these sounds more reasonable
~/.config/lxpanel/calendar
~/.config/lxpanel/SESSIONNAME/calendar

I have no strong opinion in this though =)
